The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) was established in 1998. It is an initiative of the insurance community, the The University of Western Ontario, Ontario Research and Development Challenge Fund and other partners working to reduce the loss of life and property caused by severe weather and earthquakes. ICLR is working to build society's resilience to natural disasters.
Our members are insurers and reinsurers that conduct business in Canada or reinsure risks located in Canada. Associate membership is open to all others who support our mission.
Membership - All insurers who write property or casualty insurance in Canada and all reinsurers who reinsure those risks are eligible for membership in ICLR.
ICLR Member Companies - The members of ICLR are committed to making homes and businesses safer from natural disasters. We invite all Canadian insurers and all reinsurers of Canadian risks to become members.
